Historic and striking, The Field Museum is a Chicago treasure. Originally founded to house the collections from the World’s Columbian Exposition of 1893, the current neoclassical structure opened in 1921 and now comprises a phenomenal collection of over 20 million specimens.

The Museum has over a dozen meeting and event spaces, including the spectacular Stanley Field Hall, which consists of fighting elephants, totem poles and Sue, the largest and best-preserved T. rex fossil ever discovered! Private behind-the-scenes tours and exhibition viewings are unique experiences to compliment your event. The Field Museum is the premier venue for truly memorable events.

The Light Court

In 1885, two notable architects, Daniel H. Burnham and John Wellborn Root, designed a building for the Central Safety and Deposit Company. The Rookery, 12 stories high, was the tallest building in the world. The innovative “light court” allowed natural light to reach interior offices. The grand lobby space was renovated by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1905 to include prairie style architectural details. Recent renovations have restored her to the 1905 grandeur and therefore the lobby has become a favorite event space.

Jewell Events Catering has been the leasing agent and exclusive caterer at the Rookery since 2000. Our extensive experience, reputation for culinary excellence and event logistics earned us the coveted privilege to market this Chicago landmark.

The Aragon was built in 1926 to resemble a Spanish palace courtyard, complete with crystal chandeliers, mosaic tilework and twinkling “stars” overhead. It featured live bands and was for decades the most famous ballroom in America. It has been restored to its original exotic splendor.

This elegant, modern space is filled with eclectic sculptures and artifacts. Offering expansive spaces on several levels, it also features an outdoor garden with 25-foot columns.

The Auditorium Theatre is a National Landmark which has been restored to its original 19th Century glory. It contains several unusual and flexible spaces, including the theatre itself which can seat nearly 4000 people. Events can also be held on the stage, in the lobby, or on the Dress Circle level which features two inglenook fireplaces. The Auditorium Theatre is reputed as having close to perfect acoustics.

A whimsical space just west of the Loop, Catalyst Ranch has several uniquely decorated rooms which accommodate groups of 50-200. Both floors can be combined for groups up to several hundred people.

This magnificent 1913 mansion is set on 2 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. Operated by the Oak Park Park District, it is an architectural landmark.

Claudia Cassidy Theater

Completed in 1897 to serve as Chicago’s Main Library, the Cultural Center features many rooms for events of all sizes. Preston Bradley Hall contains the largest Tiffany stained glass dome in the world and is replete with stunning mosaics of marble, Favrille glass and mother of pearl. It looks out onto Millennium Park. The Center has over a dozen other spaces available, including the G.A.R. Hall and the 290-seat Claudia Cassidy Theater.

Described as the “Wonder Theatre of the World” when it opened in 1921, the building is a magnificent example of French Baroque design. With its grand lobby, majestic staircase and glittering chandeliers, The Chicago Theatre is a spectacular venue for events of all types.

This Holabird & Root Gothic Structure was built on the Midway Plaisance for the World Columbian Exposition of 1893. Completely renovated in 2004, the International House has a beautiful courtyard with a fountain, several rooms suitable for private events including the grand and elegant Assembly Hall.

Just south of downtown Chicago, the Museum building was originally constructed as the Palace of Fine Arts for the Colombian Exposition in l893. The exterior was created in the Beaux-Arts and Revival architectural styles and the interior is Art Moderne. During the heyday of railroad travel, Union Station was the primary passenger terminal for four major railroads. Now completely restored to its Beaux-Arts splendor, this magnificent space boasts 18 floor-to-ceiling Corinthian columns, Tennessee pink marble floors, grand staircases and a 5-story vaulted skylit ceiling.
